Instructors and Staff

North Andover Flight Academy instructors specialize in Robinson R22 and Robinson R44 helicopters in the Boston Mass area. We have a dedicated team of instructors and maintenance staff to meet your helicopter training needs. Our instructors follow the curriculum we have developed at our Boston helicopter school, and are also ready to assist you with either college or career goals. Our instructors fly with our chief instructor on a regular basis in an effort to maintain consistent teaching methods and ensure constant improvement.

John McGroerty - Owner

John is an A+P and owner of North Andover Flight Academy, and has been the "behind the scenes" go to guy for every conceivable business and facility improvement. John fell in love with flying and hasn't looked back!

Matt Macaruso - CFI A+P

Matt is a Robinson R22 and R44 mechanic as well as a helicopter CFI. Matt also assists in the shop when needed. Matt is proficient in the Robinson R44 and R22.

Chris McDonald - CFII

Chris hails from North Andover, and is a CFII in the Robinson R-22 and R-44 helicopters here at NAFA.

Mike Holland - CFII

Mike is a Boston native who started training here at North Andover Flight Academy and is now a flight instructor in the R22 and R44. He also likes to play golf and helps maintain our web site.

Steven J Reel - CFI

Steven moved from Montana to finish his flight training here at North Andover Flight Academy. Steven is a full time instructor in the R22 and R44 and also helps with planning event and works in the shop.

Jeff Deitz - CFII

Jeff started training at North Andover Flight Academy last January. In only nine months Jeff acquired all his ratings and is now a flight instructor in the R22 & R44.

Alex Miserandino - CFII

Alex is our newest CFII who trained at North Andoer Flight Academy. He is from New Hampshire and qualified to teach in the R22 & R44.
